Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T Stick not working on Ubuntu with newest firmware

Tried to get my 2 year old Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T USB Stick working on Ubuntu, i had already tried that briefly on Ubuntu 9.01 and today again on Version 10.x, but it failed. so i took the time to check the logfiles

first of all: the device identifies itself as

Bus 001 Device 004: ID 2040:7070 Hauppauge Nova-T Stick 3

When i inserted it, it died when loading the firmware

.... a long trace ....

i checked the firmware version: i had this file:

i checked here and saw that i already had the newest version. so i gave it a try to use version 1.1, the older one and now it works! you just have to download version 1.10 and rename it (!) to dvb-usb-dib0700-1.20.fw
